APPOINTMENT OF COACH FOR 2014
The Glenunga Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Annese as coach for 2014. The Club thanks Kane Stewart for his sterling service in 2013 as coach taking the Club to the Prelim Final. Kane will stay on as a player in 2014.
Michael Annese (also known as MJ) was a former player with Glenunga in the mid 90s before playing Div 1 football with Glandore. Before joining Glenunga, he played under 17, 19s and reserves with Port Adelaide. He returned and played with Glenunga in 2002 but injury and work curtailed his appearances.
In more recent times he has gained coaching experience as an assistant coach at Walkerville for several years and last year coached Henley’s Div 7 team.
He has always retained a keen interest in Glenunga and has had a long-term aim to coach Glenunga. Michael is married with a young family.
Construction of new Clubrooms at at cost of approx $5m has been approved by Council with a design and construct tender under way. Work is expected now to commence in August 2014.
Glenunga Reserve Redevelopment. Work on the upgrade of Webb Oval commenced in early October and is well underway. The upgrade including laying of new turf where required, is planned to be completed before the new year. Work will then begin on Margaret Bond Oval.
